Le donne e la salute sul lavoro - Le donne e la salute sul lavoro Le
donne rappresentano il 42% degli occupati nell'Unione europea (UE). Gli
uomini e le donne non sono uguali e anche le rispettive professioni,
condizioni lavorative e modalità di trattamento sono diverse. Questi fattori
possono influire sui pericoli cui si trovano confrontati nel posto di lavoro
e sull'approccio da adottare per valutarli e controllarli.
La nostra lotta non è finita" - Mercedes Bresso, unica presidente donna di
un'istituzione dell'UE, ha celebrato la giornata internazionale della donna
con un invito al cambiamento.

NANOTECHNOLOGY
The construction sector has benefited immensely from technological advances
made to materials over the years. Curtain wall facade in particular has
benefitted from light and easy to assemble materials, but this wall is
mostly composed of aluminium and steel which trigger headaches in terms of
supply and recycling, and have bad thermal behaviour. The FACOMP ('Polymeric
nanocomposite profiles for curtain walls') project, backed by the EU with
EUR 954 000 under the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7), is determined to
define a novel system and a nanomaterial to replace steel and aluminium for
structural profiles.

Car safety: European Commission welcomes international agreement on
electric and hybrid cars - The European Commission welcomes the adoption
today at the United Nations in Geneva of the first international regulation
on safety of both fully electric and hybrid cars. This landmark decision
will facilitate the early introduction of safe and clean electric cars onto
our roads. The technical regulation adopted today at the United Nations
Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) ensures that cars with a high voltage
electric power train, such as hybrid and fully electric vehicles, are as
safe as conventional cars. Hybrid and electric cars are increasingly
available on the market and are very promising in terms of making road
transport clean and energy-efficient.
