IL SABATO EUROPEO DELLA SICUREZZA E SALUTE SUL LAVORO, SICUREZZA NEI TRASPORTI, SICUREZZA ALIMENTARE E AMBIENTE

THE EUROPEAN SATURDAY OF SAFETY AND HEALTH AT WORK, TRANSPORT SAFETY, FOOD SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENT

La cooperazione CEN/CENELEC dà i suoi frutti - Risultati positivi per i primi due Workshop congiunti CEN e CENELEC.
Il CEN/CENELEC Workshop 16 "Accessibility in Collective Transport Systems (ACTS)" ha recentemente prodotto il CWA 45546-1:2004 "Guidelines to standardizers of Collective Transport Systems - Needs of older people and persons with disabilities - Part 1: Basic guidelines". In tema di sistemi di trasporto collettivo di persone, il CWA (CEN Workshop Agreement) fornisce ai redattori di norme un orientamento specifico su come tenere in considerazione le esigenze dei passeggeri con limitazioni funzionali, in special modo persone anziane e persone con disabilità.

Il CEN/CENELEC Workshop 14 ha messo a punto il CWA 45547:2004 "Manual for calculating Combined Heat and Power (CHP)". La cogenerazione (indicata con l'acronimo CHP) è la produzione combinata di energia elettrica e termica che si basa sul recupero e l'utilizzo del calore generato durante la fase di produzione di energia elettrica, evitandone la dispersione nell’ambiente e producendo un significativo risparmio in carburante e in emissioni nocive.
Tuttavia, le statistiche e i controlli relativi agli sviluppi della cogenerazione possono contenere incertezze e la carenza di informazioni attendibili e di trasparenza possono essere considerate come una barriera allo sviluppo futuro delle tecnologie, incidendo negativamente sull'immagine dell'intero settore. Questo CWA ha come obiettivo finale l'eliminazione delle ambiguità risultanti da una carenza di procedure normative.

Employment, Social Policy, Health and Consumer Affairs - The Council held a debate on the need for a coordinated approach to the fight against HIV/AIDS in the European Union and the neighbouring countries on the basis of some questions suggested by the Presidency (15192/04). Following the Dublin1 and Vilnius2 Declarations adopted at the end of the "Breaking the Barriers – Partnership to fight HIV/AIDS in Europe and Central Asia"3 and "Europe and HIV/AIDS – New challenges, New Opportunities"4 conferences respectively, as well as the Commission working paper "Coordinated approach to combat HIV/AIDS in the EU and its neighbourhood"5, containing the Commission's commitments to addressing the current situation, the Council's debate was aimed at obtaining guidance on future steps for action to combat the disease. more...

Decisione della Commissione, del 27 ottobre 2004, relativa a uno scambio di lettere tra l’Ufficio delle Nazioni Unite per il coordinamento degli affari umanitari (UNOCHA) e la Commissione delle Comunità europee in merito alla cooperazione nell’ambito degli interventi di risposta in caso di calamità (nell’eventualità di interventi simultanei in un paese colpito da calamità).

Obstacles Preventing Employee Involvement in Health and Safety - The Health and Safety Executive commissioned this research to identify the barriers to worker involvement in health and safety activities in the workplace and identify the types of incentives that would encourage greater participation. To enable in-depth discussion and exploration of the issues, a series of focus groups were carried out, involving participants working in four main sectors - construction, manufacturing, hospitality and retail, from England, Scotland and Wales, and from a wide range of ages and extent of working experience. Interviews were also carried out with a range of employers and safety representatives from the same sectors, and with a selection of major stakeholders. This report and the work it describes were funded by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). Its contents, including any opinions and/or conclusions expressed, are those of the authors alone and do not necessarily reflect HSE policy.
